AGRINOVA ADMIN & REGISTRATIONS SUPPORT

JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full process of crop protection registrations according to Act 36 of 1947. The candidate will also be coordinating the field trials and protocols together with further developments when required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in the Agricultural field would be beneficial.
  • Previous Registration procedures and Data formulation with the Dept. Of Agriculture Act 36 would be seen as an advantage.
  • Compilation of registration dossiers for submission and/or renewals of existing registrations to the Dept. Of Agriculture Act 36.
  • Co-ordination of field trials and protocols.
  • Liaison with suppliers for product sourcing, samples and data collection according to the requirements of the Dept. Of Agriculture Act 36 for registration of products.
  • Formulation, design and vetting of product labels for registration.
  • General admin, filing and office duties.
  • A good understanding of The Crop Protection and The Chemical Industry would be an advantage.

PRODUCTION MANAGER – MACADAMIA FARM

JOB SUMMARY
The Production Manager takes responsibility for the management of all supporting functions (Labour Management, Fertiliser applications, Chemical applications and Scouting process, Irrigation, Planting, weed management, Picking and dehusking and support in season but not limited to), ensuring that Health and safety policies are implemented and adhered to and procedures are followed according to company rules and regulations.

The Production Manager of the farm will be responsible for the full spectrum of production on the farm from new plantings to harvesting, managing staff and all related support to the General Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Matric/ Grade 12
  • BSC Agri and/or equivalent degree will be seen as beneficial
  • At least 5-10+ years in farm/production management position: Labour, irrigation, Fertilizer application, chemical application, production management and new developments.
  • Experience in Farming Macadamias would be an added advantage
  • Computer literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Experience in Ethical & Environmental audits i.e., Siza and Global Gap
  • Farm Industry knowledge and experience, mechanically minded would be an added advantage.

TECHNICAL MANAGER

Geographical Area: Limpopo Farms

JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling and reporting on the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) process of the group farms.  Weekly visits to the group farms to assess their IPM and Agronomy. Assisting farm & area managers with technical advice & new developments in the area of IPM and Agronomy. Transitioning the group to a greener and more environmentally sustainable future.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • BSc Degree in Environmental Science (Integrated Pest Management) and/or equivalent qualification
  • BSc honours or MSc Masters would be seen as an added advantage
  • At least 2-5 years’ experience as a Technical Manager, Entomologist and/or Agronomist within the Citrus industry would been seen as a recommendation
  • Proficient knowledge and/or practical experience in fertilizing and spraying management within the citrus industry
  • 10-15 years’ experience in pest, fertilizing and spraying, management if the candidate has no relevant qualification applicable to the position
  • Strong understanding and theory of IPM
  • Strong understanding of quality management assurance and export compliance within the export industry would be seen as an added advantage
  • Experience in independently compiling & reporting to top and senior management on a monthly and weekly basis
  • Keeping abreast with the latest developments in the entomology & agronomy fields

PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO AREA MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will take the full role of being a personal assistant to our area manager in Hoedspruit. The candidate’s duties will include but not limited to assistance with diary management, scheduling of general and board meetings.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the full process of note-taking, compiling of minutes, preparation of board packs and compiling relevant reports where necessary for the specified meetings.  At this stage the successful candidate is only required to work half-day.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualification or a minimum of 5 years’ work experience
  • Post graduate diploma and/or certificate in secretary/PA would be an added advantage
  • 1-2 years’ experience in legal/contract understanding and/or knowledge
  • Familiarity and experience of the agricultural industry and community farm structures
  • 2-5 years’ experience in PA and/or secretarial work is a requirement for this position
  • Proficient in minute taking and compiling of reports
