The purpose of the role: To provide strategic leadership and overall direction for a vertically integrated citrus and fruit agribusiness spanning farming, packing, processing, trading, logistics, marketing, and asset management. The suitable candidate is accountable for driving sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation by aligning commercial strategy, capital allocation, and stakeholder relationships across global markets.

The role ensures profitability and resilience through disciplined expansion, acquisitions, and innovation, while maintaining strong governance, investor confidence, and environmental and social sustainability within the citrus value chain.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications: •CA(SA) plus MBA with a minimum of 5 yrs commercial fruit production i.e. apples, pears, plus a minimum of 5 yrs Citrus experience at executive level

  1. Profitibility – Group Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) margin, farm-level EBITDA/ha, Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Invested Capital (ROIC)
  2. Executive Leadership and Strategy – Commercial/ Market and Finance
  3. Governance, Compliance, Internal control, Risk Management – IFRS, Audits, Group Consolidation, Foreign exchange coverage ration, Insurance
  4. Financial Planning and Analysis – Budgeting, Forecasting, Treasury, Liquidity and Cash Flow – working capital ratio, days sales outstanding.
  5. Capital Structure and Investment Oversight
  6. Funding and Investor Relations – Debt Equity Ration, Interest cover, Funding pipeline status
  7. Systems, Processes, improve Systems Integration (ICT)
  8. Board, Shareholder and Investor Engagement and Reporting
  9. Tax and Structuring – SA tax compliance, EU, Ilse of Man, fund-level structuring
  10. Legal and Compliance – Investment and other MOUs, Shareholder agreements, Licenses, B-BBEE
  11. Capital Projects – ROI / IRR (Internal Rate of Return) analysis on new plantings/infrastructure, implementation tracking, Capex deployment vs budget
  12. Team Metrics – Finance team turnover, bench strength index, training and development
