TANGO MANDARIN

Tango ^TM is a new selection of mandarin that is truly seedless and easy to peel. The trees are sterile, so even if bees pollinate their flowers seeds do not develop. Added to this the unique flavor, attractive deep-orange colour and high juice content set them apart from competitors. “It‘s probably the best piece of fruit that’s come along for years for citrus growers,”said Ted Batkin, president of the California Citrus Research Board. Tango ^TM is a mid-late season fruit that matures during the period from late June to August in the Southern hemisphere.

NOVA MANDARIN

The Nova is a hybrid of Clementine mandarin and Orlando tangelo. This early to mid-season fruit offers great sizing, high sugar content with a deep orange rind. The Nova tree grows fast, vigorously and yields good volume of fruit. Nova’s are rich in flavour with a fine texture.

VALENCIA ORANGES

Valencia oranges are sweet and juicy, and are well-known for their high concentration of vitamin C. Valencias, sometimes called summer oranges have smooth thin, easy-to-peel rinds and contain very few pips. The colour of the flesh is bright orange, yielding a deep orange-coloured juice of rich flavour and aroma. The production season of Valencia oranges is between June and September in the Southern hemisphere.

NAVEL ORANGES

The Bahianina navel is a seedless fruit with a vibrant orange rind, deliciously sweet taste and a high juice content. The fruit is big in size and it’s thick skin makes it easy to peel as the navel is primarily recognized as an eating orange worldwide. Bahianina’s are harvested between April to June in the Southern Hemisphere. FruitOne exports only the Bahianina navel orange.

LATE NAVEL ORANGES

FruitOne exports two late navel varieties namely Cambria and Witkrans. Both varieties are late to very late season navels starting production in July and ending in September. They are both seedless varieties with a round to oval shape. The fruit size is medium to large and has a thin skin with a firm texture and a beautiful orange colour. The trees start bearing fruit early and are prone to high production. The smooth skin contributes to a high pack out percentage. These varieties are especially popular amongst the European and Chinese market.

STAR RUBY GRAPEFRUIT

The Star Ruby grapefruit is prized for its beautiful deep red pulp and juice colour and wonderful sweet-tart flavour. The smooth yellow skin has a distinct pink-red blush and conceals an intense, deep red and refreshing flesh which is almost invariably seedless. Grapefruit is an excellent source of antioxidant Vitamin C and has as positive influence on cholesterol levels. Harvest is between April and July.

MARSH GRAPEFRUIT

Marsh grapefruit is a tropical citrus fruit known for its sweet and somewhat sour taste. It’s rich in nutrients, antioxidants and fibre, making it one of the healthiest citrus fruits you can eat. Marsh is an almost seedless fruit, large in size with a straw coloured flesh and a high juice content.

LEMONS

Juicy, acidic, yet flavourful, lemon is one of the most widely used and versatile citrus fruits worldwide. The health benefits of lemon juice have been known for centuries and it contains high levels of Vitamin C. Although the juicy yellow flesh is generally a little too sour to eat on its own, its citrus fragrance and tartness wonderfully combine with all manner of ingredients, drinks and dishes. Lemon juice, rind and zest are used in a variety of foods and drinks; a true kitchen essential! The production season of lemons in South Africa is between February and September, steadily climbing to a peak in July. FruitOne predominantly grows the Eureka and Lemoneira varietals.

LIMES

This incredible citrus fruit may seem pretty ordinary, but it’s actually a powerhouse of nutrition, bursting with both vitamin C and antioxidants. Limes are bright green and used widely for its juice and as a core ingredient in cooking.
